This position must be based in one of our office locations (Chicago, IL; New York, NY; or Washington, DC).
The Role:
Morning Consult is hiring an experienced B2B SaaS sales professional to lead all aspects of revenue generation, from net new logo acquisition to existing account growth. You’ll have the opportunity to step into an already high performing team responsible for over $100M in revenue (and rapidly growing), and scale it to the next level. Specifically, those in this role will help refine our Go-To-Market sales motion, manage, coach and mentor sales leaders, build relationships with executives at our customer organizations to understand their pain points, and work with internal teams to create structure, improve processes, and provide input on products.
Success requires demonstrated success scaling enterprise B2B SaaS sales organizations. Ideal candidates will be energized by the opportunity serve as both a leader and mentor to individuals, and as a strategist focused on org-wide improvements and change. A spirit of collaboration, comfort in ambiguity, and an entrepreneurial mindset in which you’re able to think creatively about different business models and sales motions are essential. Experience with data-intensive SaaS and Usage Based Revenue models, work expanding sales operations to international markets and adapting processes to international customers, and a nuanced understanding of $100K+ ACV enterprise sales motions are all highly desirable.

The Business Development Team at Morning Consult:
The Business Development Team is part of the Commercial Division at Morning Consult. We build key relationships, think strategically about the issues clients and prospects are facing, and generate the momentum needed to deliver quality intelligence that will help our clients “win”. Our aim is to drive sustainable growth across our entire portfolio of business in close partnership with Commercial division teammates.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Leading Sales team to successful performance against net new revenue goals
  • Partnering with Research Services, Customer Success and other internal stakeholders to create and execute growth plans, including territory design, strategic account planning, pipeline development strategies and sales capacity modeling
  • Managing the sales enablement function, developing sales talent through ongoing coaching, professional development
  • Working with Revenue Operations, Finance and Executive team to set growth targets and quotas, align internal incentives, create scalable processes and communicate pipeline and forecasts
  • Building relationships with key customers to understand market dynamics, customer pain points, competitive positioning and Morning Consult’s value proposition
  • Adopting and scaling best practices to optimize performance
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

About You and What You’ve Done:

  • 12+ years of experience managing and developing sales teams including coaching, hiring, performance management and professional development
  • Experience selling B2B SaaS or Usage Based Revenue technology products
  • Experience scaling sales to non-US/international markets, both in terms of sales operations and in adapting sales motions to different cultural contexts
  • Proven track record of professional success and quota attainment
  • Experience with strategic account planning, territory design and pipeline development approaches
  • Familiarity with survey research and its methods is valued, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport, share findings and explain tradeoffs to technical and non-technical audiences alike
  • Consummate team-player; comfortable working across departments and job levels
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead sales teams in a fast-paced environment and to inspire rapid adoption of change to maximize outcomes
  • Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement

The expected salary range for this position is $275,000 - $325,000, with a midpoint of $300,000.
In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation.
