About Morning Consult:
Morning Consult is a global decision intelligence company changing how modern leaders make smarter, faster, better decisions. The company pairs its proprietary high-frequency data with applied artificial intelligence to better inform decisions on what people think and how they will act.
Ideally this position would be based in Washington, DC, however we are open to our other office locations (New York, NY or Chicago, IL).
The Role:
Morning Consult is searching for a Research Science Operations Coordinator to help drive the strategy of our online survey data collection and how we use that data to build technology products. Specifically, this role will manage various internal research initiatives, facilitate daily operations (including communication with outside vendors), help prioritize projects and work cross-functionally with Commercial, Product, Strategy and other internal and external stakeholders to align individual research projects with business objectives.
Success in this role requires an execution-oriented mindset, adaptive communication skills and a penchant for documentation. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is driven to see projects through to completion. The ability to communicate and collaborate cross-departmentally is fundamental to this role — you’ll work with internal experts in their field as well as external vendors.
As one of the leaders in the market research industry, Morning Consult will collect more than 10 million survey responses across more than 40 countries over the next year. This role will have the unique opportunity to affect change at scale and play a vital role in organizing company initiatives.
The Research Science Team at Morning Consult:
The Research Science team is part of the Strategy Division at Morning Consult. We are a team of Survey Experts focused on developing industry-leading practices for research methodology, sample quality and survey design through primary research and experimentation. We consult with internal and external stakeholders to develop complex research designs, build sampling and weighting strategies and oversee Morning Consult's data collection for its flagship daily tracking operation in 43 countries.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Collaborating with some of the world's leading experts in survey methodology to understand project objectives, create timelines and manage the execution of initiatives within the Analytics and Data Operations group
  • Collaborating on research operations, building systems and processes to field incoming requests, prioritizing individual tasks and track project progress
  • Maintaining and scaling project management databases to help drive efficiency
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, memos and project reports for internal and external audiences
  • Performing such other tasks and duties as may be required or assigned from time to time in the Company’s discretion

About You and What You've Done:

  • BA/MA in a social science — communication, psychology, political science, economics or a related field
  • 1-2+ years of experience in survey research, project management or a similar role
  • Experience with data analytics a plus
  • Experience with survey research/polling and survey methodology a plus
  • Strong project management skills, ability to oversee multiple projects in parallel and take initiative on projects
  • Experience with lean or agile project management; experience with Asana or Jira a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt to the audience to translate findings into digestible and actionable insights
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Comfort working in a high-growth, fast-paced startup environment
  • Low ego, consummate team player; comfortable working across departments and job levels
  • Willing to take feedback, learn and grow; an ethos of continuous self-improvement
Note: We view the above section as a guide, not a checklist. Research shows that underrepresented/marginalized groups are less likely to apply for a job if they feel that they don’t meet 100% of the qualifications. We welcome diverse and non-traditional backgrounds and encourage you to apply even if you don’t satisfy every single bullet on this list! It’s expected that you’ll learn and grow throughout your time at Morning Consult, so if you’re open to building new skills, we’d love to hear from you.
The expected salary range for this position is $52,400 - $79,600, with a midpoint of $66,000.
In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. This role is eligible for an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation. Please see an overview of Morning Consult’s benefits on our Career Page.
